Reporter, Mike Wallace Passes Away At 93
Another legendary newsman gone
Sources have confirmed that news veteran Mike Wallace has passed away at age 93. He was a reporter on CBS’s 60 Minutes since the show launched in 1968 and earned himself the reputation as one of the best interviewers the show ever had. He was relentless with his questions and spoke to some of the toughest subjects. Notably, Wallace interview the likes of Malcolm X, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, Jose Canseco, Yasser Arafat and Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His career spanned over 38 seasons on the news program, before he retired in 2006.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we mark the passing of Mike Wallace,” CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves said in a statement on the CBS News website. ” His extraordinary contribution as a broadcaster is immeasurable and he has been a force within the television industry throughout its existence. His loss will be felt by all of us at CBS.”
