Great move for Vevo.
Billboard reports that music video website Vevo has reached a syndication deal with Yahoo! Music, meaning that Vevo’s signature content will now be streamed through and prominently featured on Yahoo!, one of the world’s most-visited families of sites.
The deal was announced yesterday afternoon via Vevo’s Twitter account, and a spokesman for the brand says that content will be rolled out on additional Yahoo! properties in the coming weeks and months.
With content already syndicated through vendors including MTV, BET, AOL, Facebook, Univision and Fuse.tv, Vevo can reach even more users outside of its syndication network with this latest deal. Yahoo! sites ranked third in unique visitors for the month of February, behind only Google sites and Microsoft sites.
For Yahoo!, the deal is part of their new look described in a recent blog post. The Vevo partnership allows Yahoo! “to deliver a deeper catalog of artists and a top-notch video player that will significantly up the look and feel of music videos” on the site.
